The incredibly inviting little lane has been in the works for nearly three years; A collaborative project between McKinney + Windeatt architects, Challenge Construction and Verve Property Management, with some help from FortyLove on the branding.

Review: Metro Magazine by Matt McKenzie

With Takapuna Beach Café, Jam, Mimosa, Zomer and Regatta, to name just a few, Takapuna is beginning to threaten Ponsonby’s long-held position as the suburb with Auckland’s best eats. And now Takapuna has a Ponsonby Central-style dining precinct of its very own, the battle is officially on.

A couple of years ago the Fortieth & Hurstmere concept started to take shape: a place where locals could meet for a casual meal from breakfast until late, featuring lots of shared courtyard space and small-scale vendors dedicated to great food.

BUSTLING NEW MARKET LANE OPENS IN TAKAPUNA
Another reason to head to the Shore.

Officially open as of today, Fortieth & Hurstmere is a bustling little market lane in Takapuna that includes some top shelf eateries. It links between the Anzac Street carpark and Hurstmere Road. A stylish redevelopment, similar in vibe, appearance, and vendors to Ponsonby Central. The industrial look is helped by some really nice touches, including reclaimed bricks from the Christchurch earthquake and and some rad New Zealand made George & Willy outdoor furniture.
